well im going to keep this one short and sweet, kelly pavlik middleweight champion of the world gets an easy day at the office and rightfully so after fighting edison ‘pantera’ miranda and back to back fights over jermaine ‘bad intentions’ taylor, the undefeated American is in a different league to gary ‘the rocket’ lockett who is a domestic level fighter.

locket can punch a bit but his best work has been at junior middleweight, although hes got enzo calzaghe in his corner, it wont make much difference as pavlik is just way to big for him.

look for pavlik to get his superb jab going early on and follow it up with his powerful right crosses, i honestly dont see how this fight can go more than five rounds, although lockett has got alot of heart can his chin hold up against a pavlik right? the answer to that is NO, i expect to see a highlight reel ko for pavlik, put as much money as you can on it, im not sure what the odds are but i expect it will be around 1-5.

after pavlik deals with locket theres only a couple of fights he should take which is, either arthur abraham (if he gets past miranda again) maybe a good payday against winky wright (even though pavlik should win pretty easy) or the fight everyone wants to see against joe calzaghe which is a toss of a coin fight but it would be a classic matchup.

on the undercard is talented but easy to hit kevin mitchell whos opponent is yet to be named will be having his first fight in the states which will be a good learning expierience for the youngster who will no doubt fight a ‘bum’ to make himself look good against, hes very ambitious and well have to wait and see if he can produce on the world stage, hes possibly going to get a title shot against alex arthur at the beginning of next year thats if AA manages to keep his belt until then.
