Poker Freerolls - The best way to learn tournament poker!
Sunday, May 18th, 2008What are poker freerolls? Well, they are essentially MTT’s (Multi Table Tournaments).
The breakdown is this: they start at an alloted time, and everyone that is competing must be registered before the tournament starts. Everyone starts with the same amount of chips and the blinds gradually increase. This forces people to play for larger amounts as the tournament goes on. The tournament is eventually finished when there is only one person left, and they are the overall winner. Other people that finish near the end are also normally awarded prizes. Prizes are generally given to the top 9% or 10% of finishers, so if there are 100 people in the tournament, then the total prize pool is divided between the top 9 or 10 finishers.
Why are they called freerolls? Well, simply because they are totally free to enter! You can win real money and real prizes at any of the poker freerolls that we list on our site, and it doesnt cost you a penny to enter them.
